I have had the Thrustmaster 16000 HOTAS for a year. Compared to older controls I had (Suncom F-15e) the wide base is nice and stable so in a hard turn the stick won't completely tilt and lift the base off the desk. Handrest is good and arms don't get tired during long play sessions. Only nitpicky item of note is the trigger. My finger hits the bottom of the plastic instead of the center. The throttle also isn't on a rocker but a flat slider, more of a feeling thing. Hasn't given me any problems and am happy to have it.
I still use a Saitek X45, it's old, and tried/true. The rudder spring broke, I make a new one out of some hobby spring steel, works fine still. I do use a tobii 4c and a logitech G13 to complete the cockpit.
